One Tutor, One Student, One Word at a Time August 2012
Dear friend :

Some of the significant signs of summer fading into fall are the sounds of children heading back to school and weekend football games. Suzanne Bona and friends have designed this year's Concert for Literacy as one last treat before buckling down with the books and buckskins. Honorary Advocate Anthony Muñoz will be on hand at the concert taking a tiny break from his many philanthropic, charitable and football activities to enjoy what I am told, will be a not-soon-to-be-forgotten 5th Annual Concert for Literacy. I would not wait long to get tickets. I encourage you to pre-purchase yours prior to August 26. Just follow the link on our website for instructions. You will save $5.00 per ticket!

See you at the concert! For more concert information, listen to Suzanne's interview which aired on Around Cincinnati:

  • building in time to tutor before or after class (as your schedule permits.)
  • no previous experience as a tutor necessary is necessary
  • brief introduction orientation - August 28, 2012 at 12:30

This unique volunteer opportunity takes place during the first NEW 15 weeks of fall semester on the campus of UC Clermont College

August 27, 2012 - December 9, 2012

UC Clermont in Batavia offers Preparatory English Classes to students who need extra assistance with their reading and writing skills. The instructors who teach these classes have found that utilizing volunteer tutors have been extremely beneficial to both in the classroom assisting instructor and students and afterwards - providing additional tutoring for the students. Both tutors & students have been finding great enjoyment from the group and one-on-one interactions. Come spend some time at college!
