25th Annual Adult Spelling Bee – 2017

The 25th annual adult Spelling Bee held on June 9, 2017 at the Miami Township Civic Center was an outstanding event! The afternoon included six well-dressed, ready for fun, expert spelling teams. There were also silent auction tables, basket raffles and a complimentary pizza lunch for all.

Thank you to the teams, family and friends, donors, sponsors and volunteers who participated in the Spelling Bee and also to Miami Township Civic Center Trustees who donated the beautiful space. The event was a success and raised $11,700 for the agency. The funds will be used to match tutors with adult learners who want to improve their literacy skills.

There were 22 rounds with many TOUGH words. Teams went out on the words – buoyancy, justiciable, descendible, hackamore, and plebiscite. The winning team won by spelling the word propitious. Congratulations and thank you!!
